How to style your Bob to Look Stunning Based on your Hair Texture!

September 14, 2018

Besides the lob that looks absolutely stunning on everyone, the bob is another favorite haircut that many celeb stylists love deeply as they can play with it and create lots of different styles for every woman, regardless of her face shape. And, truth be told, that’s the secret behind this cut’s success. It is versatile and can be customized to anyone’s hair texture and length. Yes, this means that even ladies with round faces or super-thick locks can wear bobs and not be afraid that their haircut will make their face rounder or with unflattering fullness respectively. It’s all about knowing how to personalize it and here are some tip for different hair types!

1. Thin Hair

Keep this haircut clean and short and avoid adding layers. This will give your hair a fuller and thicker feel. However, you could also have the cut skim above shoulder-length, meaning going slightly the lob route.

Now, if your hair veers on the mousy side, ask your stylist to add layers. This will help add texture and soften the ends. You’ll love the messy, modern, and slightly choppy effect! And, don’t forget to use a texturizing shampoo that will help hold the style of choice and add a beachy, thick feel.

Finally, for a sleek and straight style, simply blow-dry the hair with a boar-bristle brush (large) and go over your head with a flatiron. For added texture, twist each section of the hair around a brush as you blow dry it and then get a curling iron (1-1 ½”) and wave each section.

2. Thick Hair

The trick here is to think out the layers without losing length. So, leave them long in the back and have fewer layers in the front corners. That should take out bulk and will allow your hair to cooperate so you can create a nice, cool-girl, sleek bob.

When it’s time to style the bob, use an anti-frizz creme and then either have a gentle wave or blow your thick hair straight.

For women with long strands that are not yet ready to cut their hair short enough for a bob, it might be best to consider a lob instead. The collarbone-length cut will give the illusions of length.

3. Curly Hair

It’s so easy to go wrong with curly hair cut short that you need to be extra careful when picking your hair stylist. According to celeb hair stylists, curly hair has the best chances to have fun when cut short. To style your curly hair, towel-dry it by squeezing it gently with a towel. Try not to break the curls to avoid frizz, though. Then, blow dry (no brush, low speed), and select random sections of the hair and use the curling iron. Blend the hair together (your natural curls and the curls you created with the curling iron) to even everything out.
