Tips For Wedding Hairstyles With Your Hair Extensions

The most important day in your life  is fast approaching. You have picked out the dress, the flowers, even the cake but your hair has stumped you. Nothing on your big day should detract from your beauty so picking a style that is right for you is pretty important.

If you plan to wear a sew in or other extensions for you wedding, suffice to say you should install them a week prior to the big day with only the styling taking place on the day. Here are a few points to consider when choosing your perfect wedding style:

1. Leave enough hair out to cover the tracks, this is your wedding day so don’t be stingy with the leave out. If you have opted to go for clip ins, then don’t apply them too close to the hairline or your part.

2. While hair extensions can enhance your look, make sure that the style that you choose suits your face shape. If you have a heart shaped face then a swoop bang will work well. For round faces, create an updo with plenty of height to lengthen your face and if you have a square of diamond shaped face, have a few tendrils fall on your face, particularly around the jawline to soften the look.

3. Match the hairstyle to the dress. Long curls look fabulous on bare shoulders and updo’s look classy with strappy gowns. An updo is also great for holding up a veil or tiara.

4. Wear a style fit for the occasion. Casual weddings will require a casual hairstyle so go for a multitude of curls with flowers in your hair. For a formal event, an updo is in order!

5. Don’t go for the elaborate especially if you have trouble being punctual. Weddings can be highly stressful events and being late comes with the territory. However, there is fashionably late and then there is ‘she-may-not-turn-up-at-all’ late!

6. Curly beats smooth hands down for weddings. Let’s face it, curls are romantic, sexy and just made for weddings. Smooth updo’s can look great too but consider having a few curls to soften the appearance.

7. This is one of the most important tips. Do a trial run with the stylist before the wedding. That way you can be confident that the hairstyle compliments your face and dress and you will also know how long the style takes to create so that everything runs smoothly on the day.

8. Wear a style that does not have to look too perfect. While perfection is demanded by brides on their wedding day, true perfections is pretty hard to come by. It would be easier to spot a defect in an intricately designed updo than it would on soft curls that cascade down your back. Don’t be too hard on yourself if a pin is out of place before you’ve even left the church!

9. Accessorize only where necessary. Flowers in the hair look great on flowing curly locks. An updo with a tiara, sparkly clips and flowers on the other hand,  is overkill. Keep it simple!
