Hairstyles to make you look YEARS younger!

July 7, 2012

There is nothing better (and much cheaper compared to a facelift!) to make you look years younger than choosing the right hairstyle! If you want to keep just one tip from this blog post, then we must say that side-swept bangs (see Cameron Diaz) are decidedly our favorite trick! They are elegant, classy, but not schoolgirly. The sweep turns attention away from the fine lines you may have on your face and help create a soft, youthful look. Just make sure it covers your hairline! Perfect!

Apart from that, though, there are other hairstyles to try and match with your personality and face shape!

1. Long Hair

Many women feel intimidated to keep their long mane when they turn 40. It’s something like an unwritten rule that dictates women to prefer short hairstyles after they have entered their 4th decade! Well, if you ask us, we say that there is no reason to go short if you know how to wear your gorgeous long locks! Just stay away from stick-straight hair around your face and go for soft, loose waves (see Julia Roberts). Super flattering!

Now, if you want to wear long hair but cut it short just a while ago, Remy hair extensions will help you create any look you wish! The only thing you need to focus on is to select the right Indian hair extensions to blend with your natural hair.

2. Gamine Haircuts

See how Halle Berry creates some texture and avoids styles that are too stiff or polished? She pulls some pieces around her face to turn all eyes away from her fine lines using shaping clay. That’s the secret to looking younger! Ideal hairstyle for women with delicate features and small frames.

3. Angled Bob

Victoria Beckham is a master in playing up her bone structure with the hairstyles she chooses. An angled bob with ends longer in front combined with side-swept bangs will help create a fun and trendy vibe. One thing to consider: to nail this look, you do need a firm jawline.

4. Bouncy Curls

They are fun and flirty. Layered curls using two curling irons (different sizes) will create lots of body and draw attention away from aging signs in the neck and face. Just make sure you loosen up the waves by raking your fingers through the curls and the spritz with hairstyle immediately after.

Tip: Choppy layers add texture and draw attention to your best features if cut the right length. Always face-framing and with the ends turned out, they complement any hairstyle.

5. Go lighter

Go 2 shades lighter than your own hair as dark hair color can add years to your face. You can also add subtle highlights (see Jennifer Anniston) – just don’t go too pale, especially if your skin is dark – or face-framing babylights (huge trend right now!). All you need is just 5-10 foils around the hairline to turn back time (see Jennifer Lopez).

Other hairstyles to try:

1. Extreme Bangs – They will highlight your beautiful eyes (see Tyra Banks) and hide forehead wrinkles. Perfect trick to look much younger, as long as you don’t have fine lines around your eyes or a round face shape.

2. Short Cuts – Ladies with fine, straight hair look amazing in shoulder-length (or shorter) hairstyles. With side-swept bangs and a tad longer length in the back, you will create a perky and full look (see Cate Blanchett). Just ensure you don’t wear a frozen, stiff style, and you are ready to shine with your ageless appearance!

It is very important that you choose a hairstyle that matches your face. Here are some fantastic hairstyles for women with round, oval, heart, long, and square shaped face! Finally, strong, shiny, healthy hair is definitely youth-looking hair so watching out what you eat will reward you for sure!
