The Best 3 Oils for your Hair and Remy Hair Extensions

September 16, 2014

Coconut oil, Argan oil, Castor oil, this oil, that oil…There seems to be a whole lot fuss about these different oils, with each one promising exceptional results and silky smooth, healthy hair. But, which one is good for your hair? How can you make the best use of each oil to achieve an even greater result? Here’s what you need to know!

1. Argan Oil

To begin with, Argan is a tree whose fruits are much similar to nuts. Inside the fruits lies argan oil, which is extracted and sold as a premium oil for the hair or as an ingredient in beauty products, such as face creams and body lotions. It is also known as Moroccan oil or liquid gold, and you don’t need more than a few drops to protect the hair and Indian hair extensions from heat, as well as provide the necessary moisture and nourishment to maintain its healthy looks. With regular use of Argan oil, you can expect reduced frizziness while it also helps reduce brittle and dry hair. Since it is not as greasy as coconut oil (below), it is ideal for regular use.

Just apply a few drops to your palm, rub your hands together to heat the oil and apply it to the length of the hair (not the roots). It will also do a great job on your clip-ins, too.

2. Coconut Oil

You will find coconut oil in many beauty products’ ingredient list due to its multiple properties. Besides protecting the hair from heat and repairing damaged hair, it also prevents hair loss and protects against breakage. Some experts say that it even helps people with hair thickening and hair loss issues. Instead of evaporating, it locks itself inside the hair and moisturizes them for long. Many women refer to coconut oil as the epitome of hair treatments that keeps the hair soft and less prone to breakage.

It is usually applied to the length of the hair, unless your scalp is dry. In this case, it could benefit from the nourishing properties of coconut oil. You may also want to melt the oil slightly before applying it to your hair or Remy hair extensions. Leave it in for 30 minutes and more and rinse well. Shampoo (make sure the shampoo you use on the virgin hair extensions is sulfate free) and repeat once a month (and up to 4 times per month) for really great results.

3. Castor Oil

Castor oil comes packed with minerals, vitamin E, and proteins that help the hair grow. For ultimate results, we suggest you use 100% pure virgin cold-pressed castor oil because of its extraordinary properties that help fight scalp infections, control hair loss, prevent and fight dandruff, and protect the hair from breakage. On Remy hair extensions, it will give a lovely shine and glossy texture that makes the hair irresistible and healthy looking.

Since castor oil has a thick consistency, it might be slightly difficult to use it as it is. If you mix it with a few drops of another oil, such as coconut oil, you will get a smoother, easier-to-apply texture. You may also use this mixture as a hot oil treatment or treatment for the scalp. You only massage the scalp with it, put a shower cap on, and sleep on it if you can. Else, leave for a few hours or as much as you can. Then wash and rinse well. Once a month is a good frequency to have this treatment.

Have you tried any of these oils? How did you like it? Do you use any other hair treatment that works wonders? Share it in the comments!
