Paris Hilton: Elegant Low Bun Hairstyle

October 31, 2015

Paris Hilton Elegant Low Bun HairstyleParis Hilton is famous for a lot of things, one of which is her fabulous set of hair extensions. Some other celebs have had hit and miss affairs with extensions. We’ve all seen the pictures of thinning hair and visible extension seams but Paris has largely had pretty good luck with them.

As a fashionable IT girl, her platinum blond locks always look well kept and immaculately groomed. In this picture, Paris wears her hair in a low twisted bun with all the hair away from her face.

She has an oval face which means that she would look good in most hairstyles. This bun falls slightly short of severe because of the soft pompadour effect at the front. This means that other face shapes should be able to get away with this hairstyle by increasing or decreasing the height at the top.

To get enough volume in the bun with this style you will need medium to long hair (16+ inches). If your hair falls short, then simply add a ponytail hairpiece or clip in some long hair extensions to make up the difference.

Here’s how to recreate it:

  1. If you are going to be adding clip in’s, do this first. You do not need to apply the extensions evenly throughout your head  as you usually would because a pulled back style may expose the tracks. All you will need to do is apply 2-3 tracks at the back of your head in the nape area to give you the length required.
  2. Once your clip in extensions are applied, comb your hair to cover the tracks making sure that the textures are well blended.
  3. Separate a small section of hair at the front of your head and clip aside.
  4. Apply some volumizing mousse or cream to the rest of your hair and brush back tying it in a loose low ponytail. Make sure that the hair tie that you choose matches the color of your hair.
  5. Grab the loose ponytail hair and start to twist it around itself and wrap it around the base of the ponytail as if making a normal bun.
  6. Once all the hair is incorporated into the bun, loosen it so that it can sit flatter against the back of your head instead of sticking out like a regular bun. To assist you with placement, use bobby pins to secure it as you go. Spray the bun with hairspray to freeze the style in place.
  7. With the hair at the front that you sectioned off earlier, brush it forwards over your face then flip it back to create the pompadour and secure with bobby pins. Adjust the height to your liking. If your hair is very silky  you will definitely require some volumizing mousse to help create volume. Do not back comb because this damages the cuticles!
  8. If your hair is long at the front, incorporate the loose ends into the bun.
  9. Spray the front with hairspray to keep the style in place and you are ready to hit the red carpet or at the very least, hit the town with friends!
